<p>Thanks for putting out this email blast. I would not have heard of it otherwise. </p>

<p>One suggestion: Have a working session on how to use Lastpass. With all the email hackings (think Yahoo!) this is a practicle tool to know how to use. </p>

<p>Question: is this a proper forum to disseminate info on cyber attacks and cyber threats (eg. ransomware)? I have some reports I'd like to share if this is place to do so. </p>

<div dir="ltr">Hey all,
<div><br>
</div>
<div>Just a note that the next Chicago Cryptoparty will be happening Sunday, March 19 at 12pm at South Side Hackerspace: Chicago (1048 W 37th St. Unit 105, Chicago, IL). We'll start out with a discussion of threat modeling, and then move into more specific
tools to address those threats.</div>

<div>Hope to see you there!</div>

<div>What is a CryptoParty?</div>
<div>CryptoParties are free and open for everyone, but especially those without prior knowledge, who haven't yet attended one.</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>CryptoParty is a decentralized movement with events happening all over the world. The goal is to pass on knowledge about protecting yourself in the digital space. This can include encrypted communication, preventing being tracked while browsing the web
and general security advice for computers and smartphones.</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>To try the programs and apps at the CryptoParty bring your laptop or smartphone.</div>

<div>What is South Side Hackerspace?</div>
<div>
<div>The Southside Hackerspace is a collection of nerds, makers, hackers, artists, students, teachers, and other creative people. We meet in Chicago’s Bridgeport neighborhood, where we teach, learn, and make.</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>Our mission is two-fold: 1) act as a physical resource and 2) be advocates for STEM+ education. Our space is a community space where members and non-members can utilize our tools, collaborate, share knowledge. At the same time, we foster an independent
network for innovative thinking and creative endeavors.</div>
