[Crypto-chi] Some good material for beginners

Hello All
I came across this article.  For the newbies amongst us - I'm one of them - this is good basics on encryption and why it matters.  More importantly it talks about an encryption tool, CrypTool, which runs on Windows, MAC and Linux. I've never heard of it but I'll definitely check it out.  Has anyone played with this before?
