hello All!
CSO online, an e-zine aimed at enterprise level security, recently came out with its recommendation for everyday security tools. Some of these are open source. And some of these are not. Use according to your leanings (some of us on the list are open source only inclined). It's noteworthy that some of the recommendations may be of dubious value when it comes to the service provider palming over your info to law enforcement or others at the flash of a badge. To wit it mentions Hushmail. 'Nuff said.
However there's enough in this smogasbord that offers something for everybody. For instance, in the messaging world, there's mention of Telegram, Wickr. In the desktop voice call arena, Signal and Ostel is proferred. Tor and VPNs are order of the day for secure browsing. Veracrypt, a fork of TrueCrypt is in the mix too. But so is Bitlocker. Buyer beware. And the list goes on.
See for yourself. Thoughts?
